As an Account Manager at SealingTech, I was fortunate to attend AFCEA West 2025 in San Diego, California. This year’s theme asked the question if the cybersecurity industry was advancing operational capabilities at a sufficient rate to outpace cyber threats. As someone who helps the DoD and enterprise customers stay ahead of breaches and malicious attacks, my interest was piqued.
Helping to Solve Customer Pain Points

At the conference, I got the chance to converse with individuals interested in learning more about our defensive cyber solutions. They especially wanted to know if we could provide a solution to help solve a current issue their company or agency was experiencing. From the Intel space, I was approached on how we could increase an organization’s cyber resiliency. In an event of a natural disaster, data breach, or cyberattack, could we help maintain their system’s availability and keep business operations up and running during and after a cyber incident?
We discussed how SealingTech’s modular Cyber-Fly-Away Kits can support a Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP); this would enable the organization to maintain the availability of its system and continue to operate in the event of an act of nature or malicious cyberattack. In other words, our Kits could provide the capability of being a warm or cool site.
The difference between a warm site and a cold site primarily lies in their functionality during disaster recovery. A warm site is an intermediate solution between a hot site and a cold one. A hot site is equipped with all the necessary infrastructure and resources to immediately recover from a disaster. In contrast, a cold site only provides the necessary infrastructure but lacks the technology and resources for immediate disaster recovery. (Source: Cyber Insight)
Providing this capability in the event that one of their locations is compromised, our Kit could ensure that their organization’s data remained intact and business operations would not be impacted. At the time of this writing, the customer and I already have plans to work together in solving this issue.
Enhancing Resiliency of Defensive Operations
Andres Giraldo presenting SealingTech’s new Generative AI platform, Operator X at AFCEA West
During the 3-day conference, I got to attend a presentation on Operator X, led by my colleague, Andres Giraldo, SealingTech’s Director of Innovation. Based on the audience’s response and follow up inquiries afterward at our booth, participants were excited to learn more about this new Generative AI (GenAI) platform that could help ensure resiliency of defensive operations.
Andres demonstrated how large language models (LLMs) and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) can be used to transform defensive cybersecurity capabilities and enable cyber resiliency on missions. This new GenAI solution would greatly enhance information awareness for cyber defenders and help deliver actionable intelligence to decision-makers.
Overall, AFCEA West provided an invaluable opportunity to engage with potential customers and learn about their needs and use cases we had not considered before. It also helps us ensure that our defensive cyber solutions align with real-world scenarios. Ingesting what we learned at the show and sharing it with the rest of the SealingTech team at home will enable us to advance our products and operational capabilities to help our customers outpace evolving cyber threats.
